Radiothon & Diamonds Benefit Raleigh Rescue Mission

Raleigh, NC – vitalink President Jeanne Frazer announced today that two November events are planned to benefit the Raleigh Rescue Mission. A holiday charity event will be hosted by Diamonds Direct Crabtree on Thursday, November 3, followed by a radiothon on WKIX on Thursday, November 10. Both will raise funds to help Raleigh Rescue Mission assist area homeless this winter.

“We are excited about these two events,” says Leslie Millett, Raleigh Rescue Mission director of public relations. “The holiday charity event with our new partner Diamonds Direct is set for November 3rd; the event is sponsored by Midtown Magazine and Rush Radio. It’s a great way for folks to get some Christmas shopping out of the way and it benefits the poor and homeless in our community.” Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres will be served from 7-9 p.m. Profits from sales during the event will benefit Raleigh Rescue Mission.

“The second event is a radiothon with WKIX on November 10,” says Millett. “The event is called Mission Midtown and it will run from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. in front of the movie theatres at North Hills. Anyone who would like to make a financial donation to Raleigh Rescue Mission can just drive up and do so without even getting out of their cars.” The event will be broadcast on KIX 102.9 FM and KIX 850 AM starting at 6 a.m. with Jenn in the morning, Doug Austin, and Brian McFadden. Millet adds, “we appreciate the help vitalink has provided in coordinating sponsors for two events.”

In addition to coordinating these two fund-raising events, vitalink recently produced a public service announcement for Raleigh Rescue Mission that can be viewed at http://youtu.be/ern3-59vYiM. The firm is also sponsoring it second annual vitalink coats & blankets drive November 1-18, 2011, when it will be collecting coats, blankets, cold weather clothing, grocery or discount store gift cards (Wal-Mart, Sam’s, BJ’s, etc.) and financial donations for the Mission.
